Low Temperature Asymptotics in Spherical Mean Field Spin Glasses
In this paper, we study the low temperature limit of the spherical Crisanti-Sommers variational problem. We identify the Γ-limit of the Crisanti-Sommers functionals, thereby establishing a rigorous variational problem for the ground state energy of spherical mixed p-spin glasses. As an application, we compute moderate deviations of the corresponding minimizers in the low temperature limit. In p...
متن کاملMean - field theory of temperature cycling experiments in spin - glasses
We study analytically the effect of temperature cyclings in mean-field spinglasses. In accordance with real experiments, we obtain a strong reinitialization of the dynamics on decreasing the temperature combined with memory effects when the original high temperature is restored. The same calculation applied to meanfield models of structural glasses shows no such reinitialization, again in accor...
متن کاملOn the nature of the low-temperature phase in discontinuous mean-field spin glasses
The low-temperature phase of discontinuous mean-field spin glasses is generally described by a one-step replica symmetry breaking (1RSB) Ansatz. The Gardner transition, i.e. a verylow-temperature phase transition to a full replica symmetry breaking (FRSB) phase, is often regarded as an inessential, and somehow exotic phenomenon. In this paper we show that the metastable states which are relevan...
متن کاملMean field theory of spin glasses
These lecture notes have been prepared for a course in Trieste, part of the Ph.D. program in Statistical Mechanics. They focus on the mean field theory of spin glasses, with particular emphasis on the presence of a very large number of metastable states in these systems. This phenomenon, and some of its physical consequences, will be discussed in details for fully-connected models and for model...
